To Stage or Not to Stage
The housing market is CRAZY out there and a lot of homes are being bought and sold. When selling your home you always want to get the best price possible. Recently we painted the interior of a home of one of our customers who was getting ready to sell. Being one of Victoria’s top realtors she definitely knows what she’s doing. When getting ready to sell the most important rooms are kitchens and bathrooms. Amber Simpson went with updating her kitchen which is the main focus of her top floor.
Instead of replacing her cabinets she called us in to paint them as well as paint the walls and ceiling. We have a specialized system for cabinet painting that saves money and gives a near spray finish.
So what are some things to help you get the most out of your house?
- Choose neutral colours for your home. Bright or dark colours can detract from the space and are more of a personal touch. By sticking to neutral colours you’re helping a potential buyer picture themselves in the house.
- Make sure the house is exceptionally clean and de-cluttered. The less stuff in a room the bigger is feels. Polish your stainless steel and glass in the bathroom and kitchen for that extra sparkle, clouded shower doors detract from the over all look.
- Rejuvenate Cabinets. Kitchens and bathrooms are a big part of selling your home. Freshen up your cabinets without breaking the bank by giving them a nice paint job.
- Make sure each room has a clear purpose. Multi-use rooms can turn off potential buyers because it makes it hard for them to picture themselves using the room. In order to stage the room pick a theme, like a home office and remove any extra items to give the room a clear purpose.
