The Final Look
This year as you may already know, the winner of our 11th Annual Charity Paint Give Away was the Girl Guides of Canada Kingswood Camp. With an overwhelming amount of nominations, they made their voice heard and we learned so much about what this organization is about. It was such an amazing experience working at this hide-away camp. Their once, uninspired kitchen and bathroom is now bright and homey.
So what is the Kingswood camp?
This property was purchased in the 70s by the McKevitts and given to the Girl Guides of Canada South Island Division. The property is maintained by a group of amazing volunteers that keep it all going. In many cases this is the first experience some of the girls get in the great outdoors. The McKevitt Lodge gets the most use and is the center of the property. Without the volunteers that keep it going this camp would not be here anymore. Many camps on the east coast have closed down. We are happy to do our part in helping this generations-old tradition keep going.
Thank you Sherwin Williams on Shelbourne for the paint donations. Your contribution is always appreciated!
