What Colours Can I Choose From?
You can choose any colour you like! We can match your favorite colours from Benjamin Moore, Dulux, Sherwin Williams and Cloverdale Paint.
Can You Reface Or Re-stain Cabinets?
Sorry, we don’t offer re-staining or refacing of cabinets.
Can You Repair And/Or Modify My Cabinets?
We’re able to help out with many repairs and modifications such as adding or removing cabinets, installing a backsplash or installing new countertops.
Do My Cupboards Need To Be Empty?
It is best if your cabinets are emptied before our visit. If you are unable to do this please let us know and we will do all we can to help.
Can I Be At Home While You Carry Out The Work?
It is completely safe for you and your family to be in your home while we carry out the work. We only use high quality, low VOC, water based products for most of our projects. Sometimes we will need to use a solvent based primer which doesn’t smell that nice. However, the odor quickly dissipates and there is no need for you to leave the property.
Do You Paint By Hand Or Use A Spray?
We use traditional brush and roller painting, full spray painting and hybrid systems. We will choose the best system depending on the type of cabinet, your budget, and the look you want to achieve.
What Kind Of Paint Do You Use?
Cabinet paint needs to be flexible to avoid cracking, hard enough to resist chipping, and smooth so it can be easily cleaned.
We also need to use paint which has low VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) so that you can stay in your home while the work is being carried out. We only use products approved by the Master Painter Institute (MPI) and which meet Green Performance Standard 1 or higher.
The exact paint we use depends on what type of cabinets you have (e.g. wood, particle board or laminate) and how we are applying it. However, all of the paint we use is safe for you and your family, helps to protect the environment, and will stay looking great for many years to come
Is All Of The Work Carried Out At My Home?
Yes. All work is completed on site and we do not take away your cabinets to be painted elsewhere. We protect your home by creating a sealed wall of plastic around our work area to ensure that all dust is contained and that no paint ends up anywhere it shouldn’t.
We paint all of your doors, cabinet boxes, toe kicks, crown moulding and panels. Most of our cabinet refinishing jobs are completed in less than a week.
How Long Will My Paint Job Last?
You can expect your paint job to last for 5-10+ years.
There are a few things you can do to keep your refinished cabinets looking at their best for longer. By keeping them clean, following the after care instructions, and avoiding slamming the doors you can keep your cabinets looking as good as new for many years to come.
What If My Paint Job Needs Touching Up In The Future?
After we have finished our work we will leave you with a can of touchup paint and also keep a note of your colour information. If any of your doors or panels need refinishing in the future we can come round and use that paint to get them looking as good as new again. This will cost $200 for 1-3 doors and then $25 per door beyond that (fixed panels count as doors as well).
