Vacation Cancelled … Now What?… Okanagan Wine Country Colours in Your Kitchen
Bring the colours of the grape harvest into your kitchen.
And what better place to highlight the colours of the fall grape harvest than painting your kitchen cabinets. The harvest brings us both good wine and good food. It’s an exciting colour pallet brimming with warmth and abundance.
So many of us dream of experiencing the fall grape harvest in France. Wine making is an ancient craft in France with evidence or viticulture dating back 12000 years.
For now the dream of a picnic in the fall sunshine of the Loire Valley with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, a Crusty French Baguette with a taste of Brie de Meaux, has to wait.
Fortunately, British Columbia has its own treasure in wine regions.
Some are right on our doorstep in the Saanich Peninsula and Cowichan Valley where we can sample Ortega with its fine floral aroma, and even the fruit, flower and spices of a Pinot Noir.
And there is the Okanagan. Arguably the best wine producing area in Canada.
Last weekend, my wife and I set out to the Okanagan to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary and to experience the colours and flavors of the fall harvest.
We filled up our car, put on our face masks and boarded the ferry for our trip. About 8 hours later we were in the sunny Oliver, BC.
The colour pallet was amazing.
From simmering golds of the grasslands, and the shocking reds of the Sumacs to the soft pastels of the marsh flowers, the colour pallet was varied and beautiful.
This week, Sam brings the colour of the Okanagan to our kitchens.
We spend so much time in our kitchens. When friends and family are over, everyone seems to end up in the kitchen with the cook. Imagine good friends, good food, good wine and a fun new wine country paint colours on your kitchen walls and cabinets.
Sam Parsons ,Architect and Designer Representative, Cloverdale Paint Inc. writes:
“Inspired by the warm and earthy tones of the Okanagan, we have transformed a modern style kitchen into a rustic oasis. Rich browns, burnt oranges, creamy whites and olive greens bring this space to life with simplicity and comfort, especially as we move into the rainy seasons. What better way to add pops of colour to remind you of those beautiful winery views!”
